Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer who hails from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. In October of 2016, Ari Lennox released her EP Pho. It was here that she gained recognition. Her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox first released her music on the internet in 2012. The singer released her debut album Ariography as well as her debut mixtape in 2013 with the mixtape Five Finger Discount. In 2014, Ari Lennox dropped her single Bound, as well as her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. In the year 2015, she performed on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, which came out on the 21st July. it out on 21st July. In the following year, her music began to circulate around the Dreamville team, as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some references for Rihanna. The news was released on December 8, that she had signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track she recorded together with Cozz in the Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. In October of 2016, she released her first EP Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She was joined by EarthGang. In 2018, she appeared as a guest performer on two songs, with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream from her debut album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video that was released on the 5th of September. Then on November 9 the singer released two new singles: forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. Then, on November 13 the singer released two new singles, titled The No One and Pdigree. She then appeared as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single on the 26th of February, 2019, to accompany her debut album with the same name. The song, launched with a music video on YouTube 20 February 2019 has been viewed over 3 million times within the first seven days. She was one of the support acts for 6LACK in their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December of 2018.
